I am a spiritual Christian life coach with a unique, diverse background. My passion is for helping my brothers and sisters in Christ to lead joyful, fulfilling lives of victory.
Within this passion, my specialties are stress management, relationship and communication issues.
James Thomas: Life Journey
As many of our life-journeys are, my road to becoming a Christian life coach was full of twists, turns and detours. Many points in the road were painful, but I can look back and truly proclaim that God is faithful!
Although I would never choose to relive many of my hard life lessons, I also would not want to go back to the person I was before learning them. These experiences have enabled me to relate better to others who are enduring hard times.
Like Christ, I understand sorrow and am acquainted with grief. Thankfully, He has lovingly guided me into a life of spiritual victory, lasting peace and the deepest joy imaginable.
The Lord has touched my life through scripture, inspired authors, pastors, counselors... through everyday miracles, and through my amazing wife.
I am especially thankful for the patient individuals who are willing to invest in helpful, compassionate relationship with me. Returning this act of love to my brothers and sisters in Christ is my life's passion.
A short video of my journey
Work, Experiences
My work experience is wide and varied. I've pursued a career in the emergency services as an emergency medical technician, a city firefighter and a wildland firefighter. I've risen to the top of the toughest training academies in the Los Angeles area and proven myself as a valuable team member and leader in a wide variety of stressful environments.
Working in the construction industry as a homebuilder, I learned plumbing, electrical work, landscaping and finish carpentry. Although I excelled in both emergency services and construction, my true calling all along was to build helping relationships with other people.
I have volunteered for years with a humanitarian aid organization called
World Relief,
working with social and economic outcasts in Haiti, Mexico and the U.S. I have also spent some time in the mission field, working at an orphanage in Mexico.
Education, Lifestyle
My education is in human services management, with emphasis in psychology, sociology and business. My wife and I are both students of the Spanish language, and enjoy a vibrant lifestyle of self-education in the many coaching-related subjects that catch our interest.
We enjoy jogging, rock climbing and other outdoor activities with our brothers and sisters in Christ when the weather is nice. When the weather is not so nice, you can find us curled up in the living room with a good book, making music with friends, or braving the elements on some random outdoor adventure.
...and life goes on...
Part of my personal journey to becoming a spiritual Christian life coach has included battling chronic, stress-related illness. If you've ever struggled physically, you can understand the strain this can put on relationships!
Our Lord has shown Himself continually faithful, and now I love to share what I've learned with others and relate to struggling believers in amazing ways.
